Captain Brian King
Captain Brian King grew up
fishing and working on the water. Brian graduated from the Chapman Sea
School of Seamanship for Professional Mariner Training. During his summer
breaks, he worked as a mate on fishing boats to learn his craft. After
school, he left for Islamorada working on boats and winning several
tournaments. Soon, he was traveling the world, learning his trade from some
of the best Boat Captains in the business.
After working on other Captain's boats, Brian setout
looking for the right Captain's Job for himself. In 2002, he moved to
Hatteras, NC to oversee construction on a 65' IBW boat The Jester
seeing it through the launch in November of 2004.
As the Captain of The Jester, Brian King
has continued his education and certification. He has been certified as a
U.S. Merchant Marine Officer and Radar Observer, First Aid and
Emergency Care Certification Training including CPR, Basic Firefighting
Certification, Personal Survival Technique Certification, Personal Safety
and Social Responsibilities Training, along with training for specific
Jester Systems such as Caterpillar Power Plant Training, and
navigation equipment systems.

Charter fished for 2 months catching over 300 sails in 50 days. First Place
boat in the Masters Sailfish Tournament with 27 sails.

Fonda Fishing, Ft Lauderdale, FL

53' Viking.
Exclusively light tackle fished from 6 lb to 30 lb in St. Thomas for blue
marlin. Took 4th place in the Boy Scout's Blue Marlin
tournament. On to Venezuela for 2 months where we fishing in the top ten
for the International Grand Slam Tournament. First mate ever to catch grand
slam on circle hooks, released 17 whites in one day, seven consecutive grand
slams and one double grand slam in one week. Then went on through the
Panama Canal to fish Panama and Costa Rica for 4 months, pursuing blue
marlin and pacific sailfish records on 6 lb, 8 lb, and 20 lb test. Several
days with double digit releases.

Cape Verde, Africa

40' Australian Custom.
Delivered boat under tow for 1000 miles with the Mother Boat on Cape Verde
for blue marlin season. Explored several islands within Cape Verde with
several days having over 20 blue marlin bites, catching 10 in one day,
tagging 8. Back to Canary Islands to explore every island for blue marlin,
catching several with one over 800 lbs.

Mate on 57' Island Boat Works.
Responsible for maintaining boat and tackle. Fished 65 days with 66 white
Marlin and 7 blue Marlin. Top Charter Boat of the year with the most
billfish releases. Heaviest Wahoo at 75 lb. 1st place in the
Cape May Ocean City shootout with 2 blue marlin and 4 white marlin in 2
days.

Striker, Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Deckhand on 48' Rivera.
Responsible for preparation of all food, maintaining all tackle and trained
customers in club fishing rules. Fished 90 days with 160 striped marlin
caught. Broke all records for fish in a day and most released in a season
on any charter boat in New Zealand ever. Caught heaviest fish for the
season. Women's world record on 30 lb line with a 355 striped marlin.

Australian custom. Responsible for tackle. Fished 67 days on the
Great Barrier Reef for Black Marlin ending the season with 46 tagged and a
160 lb. black Marlin on 6 lb. line for a new women's pending world record.

Responsible for tackle and maintaining boat. Fished approximately 160-170
days offshore each year. Active in fishing the giant Blue Fin Tuna,
releasing 532 in the winter of 1996 in 31 days of fishing.
